Chapter Four

Sela woke with a start; glancing around the room she looked for what had woken her. Checking her watch, she was surprised it was already eight in the morning. Damn, Yosi’s fucking had exhausted her and her wolf. After their initial round when he’d rocketed her into multi-orgasmic bliss, she’d conked out and not once did her wolf clamor to be let out to feed and frolic with the monthly midnight moon.

Disentangling herself from Yosi’s arms, she eased to her feet, muscles aching and twinging in protest. Standing next to him, staring down into his peaceful face, she couldn’t believe she was looking at the same man who had been so rough with her the night before. Not that she minded, but the soft smile on his lips and his disheveled hair did not make him look like the big, bad yeti she’d stared down and dared only a few hours ago.

With a regretful sigh, she turned on her heel and padded across the freezing concrete floor. She’d had enough of the frozen prison and she’d be busting out, soon. The goons Ron left to watch her had probably been taken over by lust during the night and run off to hunt for something to eat or fuck. Or, knowing the type of people Ron surrounded himself with, possibly both.

Standing in front of the huge metal door, she stared at the latching mechanism, following the gears and chains to the rope. Once pulled, she’d be home free. Too bad the fuckers had cut… No! They hadn’t cut it, just tied it up.

Looking around the open area, she tried to judge the distance between the top of the highest stack of pallets and the dangling, knotted rope. Maybe, just maybe she could reach the damned thing. She’d probably hurt something fierce when she let go and landed, but at least she’d be free and not have to wonder about Ron’s surprises when he finally came to let them out.

Climbing to the highest point, she eyed her target. No way in hell could she leap that far in her human form. Damn, she’d have to shift. Taking a deep, cleansing breath, she called to her wolf, letting it run free within her soul, body and mind. It didn’t take long for the powerful beast to answer her call. Within moments, the change was upon Sela. Her bones shifted, popping and reforming into her wolf shape while the beast’s heightened senses took hold.

The soft whirring and metallic clang of the cooling system assaulted her ears, but she tried tuning them out. There were other sounds to look for, sounds of those dangerous wolves. Perking her ears, she listened. For a while, there was nothing. Then… In the distance she could hear it… mumbling. “Fucking wolves. Fucking hate wolves. Damned shifters.” Followed by a deep snore. Well, that answered Sela’s question about what Yosi would think about her furry tendencies.

Deciding to get the door open as quickly as possible and away from the wolf-hating yeti, Sela focused on the rope once again.
